Goose Lake Vacation Photos

Vacation fishing at Goose Lake, Ontario, Canada.
No fish fries, it's a catch and release.
But our group of 5
caught over 2,000 fish.

We drove 1,000 miles North
as far as we could,
then flew the last
65 miles because
there are no roads up there.

Our pilot and the 1940s
aeroplane that took
us to Canada.

Five of my church buddies and I,
we go to Goose Lake about every 2 years.

The journey begins.

A view from inside the plane.

First class seat.

Canada on the horizon.

Twilight descends on Goose Lake.

Another aircraft near the shore.

The greens and blues of Goose Lake.

The commander's compound
at Loon Haunt Outpost.

Nearing the waterfall.

Rich warm wood interior
where meals materialize.

Goose Lake crepuscular with pines.

Our lake-worthy vessel
the Misty River.

Dining and writing room.

Cooking in the cozy log cabin.

Blue ripples as water flows.

A perfectly fine fish.

Preparing to leave after 7 days of bliss.

Goodbye Goose Lake, until next time.
